HP’s official VuGen training course is a good introduction to the basic features of VuGen and the steps involved in creating VuGen scripts. This instructor-led course is offered by most HP partners, and typically runs over 2 days. Students should receive a printed training manual containing the PPT slides, notes, exercises and review questions. HP’s certification exams for LoadRunner/VuGen are heavily based on the course material.
Instead of creating my own “basics of VuGen” training course, I have created some supplemental questions that aim to broaden the understanding of students taking the official course. The questions are organised into the same topic areas as HP’s course, so your instructor should give you some time at the end of each topic to complete them (in addition to the questions and exercises from the official training material).
Note: these questions have been removed until they can be updated for VuGen 11.50. Topics removed are:
- Recording for the Web
- Auto Correlation after Recording
- Introduction to Script View
- Advanced Scripting Techniques
- Manual Correlation
- Auto Correlation during Recording
