Package com.tibco.tibjms.admin.hawk Description

Provides classes for administering a TIBCO Enterprise Message Service via Hawk Interfaces.

The methods in these classes are not intended to be invoked directly. Instead, the Hawk Agent process will load these classes on start up in order to administer instances of tibjmsd.

To install these classes for use in a Hawk Agent running on a Unix platform, you must edit the configuration file for the hawk agent. Edit $HAWK_ROOT/bin/hawkagent.cfg file, and add the following lines at the end:

-M com.tibco.tibjms.admin.HawkListener
     -server <JMS daemon URL>
     -user <JMS admin user>
     -password <JMS admin password>

The hawk agent must be able to find the HawkListener class and all of the classes it depends on, so add jmshawk.jar to the CLASSPATH before invoking the agent, or copy jmshawk.jar into HAWK_ROOT/java.

To install these classes for use in a Hawk Agent running on a Windows platform, you must follow these steps:

  1. Don't just place the jar files in %HAWK_ROOT%/java. Unpack them there.
  2. Get a dump of Hawk's current config status. Do this by opening a command line in the %HAWK_ROOT%/bin directory. Then run "hawkagentnt -d". This will print out all of the current command line options for starting the daemon. Copy these, and paste them into a config file.
  3. Use the Hawk configuration applet to tell hawk about your config file. Find the "advanced" tab on the front page of the config applet, and use the config file created in step 2 for the Hawk agent.
  4. Run "hawkagentnt -d" again. Examine the output and remove anything from your config file that is already part of the "-d" output.
  5. Now you can *finally* add the "-M com.tibco.tibjms.admin.HawkController -user foo -password foo" to the config file you just created.
